PROFESSIONAL ISSUES COMMITTEE - YEAR 2024

Director:
Elizabeth Ridley Scott

Vice Director:

Committee Members:
John Bergstrom, Steve Buterin, Stephen Fischer, Tom Luing, Donald McNeil, Scott Nelson, Philip Schimke, Elizabeth Scott and Janet Stanzak

THREE MAIN STRATEGIES:

  • Increase awareness of FPAMN by legislators and regulators. Continue to work with Department of Commerce to safeguard the finances of Minnesota residents.
  • Hold an event that addresses a professional issue that would appeal to FPA members and NexGen members in particular.
  • Hold an FPA MN Advocacy Day at the State Capitol. Members can meet with Department of Commerce staff as well as schedule meetings with their Legislator. With members help, we can ensure that FPA MN, the importance of financial planning, and the interest of financial planners are recognized by our state legislators and regulators.
