PASSION STATEMENT
We want to help FPAMN members build and maintain a practice based on strong professionial ethics by  communicating clearly in the FPAMN newsletter about legislative and regulatory matters and delivering an Ethics course that fully engages participants .  We want  to proactively influence legislation that supports the mission of the FPA and we want to bring that to the community as a whole, through education and dissemination of information.

Fostering Trust - We will foster trust by:

  • Clear and open communications
  • A detailed understanding of roles and expectations
  • A commitment to follow-through on expectations; and
  • Development of meaningful relationships between members.

Creating the Shared Vision:

  • Help our members build and maintain a practice based on strong professional and ethical standards
  • Communicate effectively with all of our constituents; and
  • Influence legislation that affects the interests of our members and their constituencies.

Developing Strategies & Initiatives:

  • Define newsletter engagement to include updates in monthly FPA MN newsletter and FP case study learnings 2 x per year (Mike Shovein and Keith Loveland)
  • Offer 2 Ethics' courses per year (Mike Shovein and Keith Loveland)
  • Identify and develop relationships with key authors of financial literacy bill to promote adoption of a financial literacy course as a MN high school graduation requirement (Mike Shovein, Keith Loveland, Richard Gluck, Toy Ward)
  • Research upcoming taxation bills and provide proactive information to members on potential impact (Steve Fischer, Jennifer Ragborg)
  • Add two new committee members through active recruitment at monthly FPA meetings, new member receptions and enhancements to information on FPA MN site (All committee members)
  • Develop a succession plan for new committee director in 2009 (Mike Shovein)
  • Maintain roster of committee members and implement two facetime social events per year (Jennifer Ragborg, Toy Ward)

Energizing Alliances:

  • Education/Programs Committee -
    • What do we want? Link timing of newsletter article with speaker on taxation issues
    • What do they want? Reinforcement of key program messages
  • Financial Literacy Committee -
    • What do we want? Collaborate with key stakeholders who have a stake in the financial literacy issue
    • What do they want? Assistance in development of a comprehensive plan for enhancing financial literacy

Activating Transformations:

  • Each strategy assigned to a specific committee member to promote ownership and assure that goals are accomplished
  • Quarterly meetings structured to assess progress toward meeting specific goals
