Vice:

Committee Members:
James Bryan, Bob Callahan, Lori Fick, Deb Newman, Jack Pickler, Greg Springer,
and Ben Van Zee

Fostering Trust:
Communicating in a transparent way to members by managing promises through developing measurable strategies.

Creating the Shared Vision:
The primary objective of the Member Services Committee is to build and retain membership through services and opportunities that provide a sense of community and connectedness to the members of the FPA of MN.

Developing Strategies & Measuring Results:
  • Connection to FPA - Welcome new members each month via individual phone call followed up by an email. Encourage new members to explore the web site and participate in chpater meetings and events. Follow up will include 2 additional phone calls or emails within the first 6 months. Send reminder postcard to members about to terminate. Send survey to members not renewing. Distribute names and contact info to other Directors to encourage personal contact.
  • Member Discounts – To actively search for areas in the financial and local communities that are willing to provide discounts for services used by our members. Refer to web page: http://www.fpamn.org/membersonly/Member_Benefits.html
  • Practice Management Forum - To provide an opportunity for members to participate actively in a 1 to 2 hour forums that provide for extensive knowledge of a certain topic that interests the members. These forums will be connected to other FPA events or meetings.
  • Special Events – Provide opportunity for members to network and meet one another using the following activities: Golf Outing, Networking Event, Food Drive, Fundraising for Charitable Organizations, etc.
  • Resource Program - Promote the Resource Program as one that will provide “specialized” assistance from other professionals to assist in the practices of both experienced and inexperienced financial professionals.” This allows experienced planners and allied professionals to network together to brainstorm client issues and problems. Refer to web page: http://www.fpamn.org/members/Resources_Members.html

Energizing Alliances:
We believe that each committee ultimately is working toward a common goal as stated in the FPA of MN Value Statement, “In our interaction with one another, we are committed to honesty, integrity, and open communication. Through the spirit of service, we foster stewardship and the development of recognized knowledge and competence.” We hope to work together in alliance with the other committees, Board Members and Bonnie Stanley, the FPA of MN Executive Director, in achieving the common goal of effectively serving our members and maintaining the Gold Chapter status we have had for the past 6 years through our pursuit of excellence. When possible, we will try and participate in other committee meetings, and invite others to join ours, to further enhance the alliance bonds.

Activating Transformations:

  • We will be able to energize and focus the talents of the Member Services Committee by meeting on a monthly basis in person at a pre-selected date and time.
  • Each strategy will be assigned to specific member(s) of the Member Services Committee to promote ownership and help in the management of making sure the “job gets done.”

Allies are board members and other committees:

  • Measure the retention of FPA MN members at the beginning of each year compared to the prior year.
  • Evaluate and act on the answers and feedback from the Zoomerang surveys that are provided to members.
  • Quantify participation levels and growth in participation in events that are offered and attended.
  • Strive to enhance and improve upon each event as needed.
