    Goal:
    Increase new members by 15%: 128 new members.  As of 12/31/09, there are 763 members in the MN Chapter. (Year 2009: 74 new members; Year 2008: 114 new members; Year 2007: 97 new members; Year 2006: 120 new members; Year 2005: 100 new members; Year 2004: 105 new members)

    Fostering Trust:

    • Use open communication to help energize and integrate strategies, be action-oriented when implementing them and be accountable to the public, our members and the community.
    • Empower committee members with specific responsibilities and monitor accountability on an ongoing basis.
    • Project enthusiasm, passion and excitement. Have regular in-person meetings. Spend time getting to know each other personally.
    • Stick to a working plan.

    Vision:
    Proactively and effectively communicate the benefits of FPA membership to the Minnesota financial planning community with the intent to increase membership.

    Developing Strategies: (See Team Leadership Manual for details.)

    • Develop plan of work (Chair and Committee)
      • Incorporate Roadmap to Success
      • Work with committee members to allocate duties
      • Monitor progress at monthly committee meetings
    • Committee growth (Chair and Committee)
      • Proactively invite chapter members to join committee
    • Energize committee members (Chair and Committee)
      • Develop job descriptions for committee members, including vice-chair
      • Identify strengths and interests of committee members
      • Recognize active committee members on website, in newsletters, at meetings, etc.
    • Hold Committee Meetings (Chair and Committee)
      • Monthly meetings with agendas
      • Have committee members report on progress on their actions
      • Update committee on FPA MN and National's initiatives
    • Membership Growth: 15% - 114 new members
      • Monthly monitoring of tactical efforts
      • Activate current members to get non-members to join
      • Invite non-members from FPA MN database and local wire houses to attend meetings
      • Promote Member-Get-A-Member Campaign
      • Educate current members on how to refer a member to FPA MN
      • Coordinate and schedule staffing for non-member registration table at monthly meetings for distribution and communication on member benefits
      • Coordinate and schedule staffing for membership booth at annual symposium
      • Call first-time attendees from each chapter meeting
      • Have committee members speak at chapter meetings about new incentives and membership activities
      • Monthly newsletter submissions
      • Continually develop new recruitment strategies (possibilities could be a reception after CFP exam, free members-only meetings or local recruitment campaigns)
    • New Member Reception
      • Determine date and book New Member Reception
      • Collaborate with Board of Directors and plan for new member reception
      • Have all directors speak about their committee and encourage new members to join committees

      • Ensure content accuracy
      • Review and update content
    • Roadmap to Success
      • Complete Membership Committee portion of Roadmap to Success submission
      • Determine what activities could qualify for an Outstanding Achievement Award and complete report
    • 2011 Strategic Planning
      • Create draft Strategic Plan and attend Strategic Planning Meeting along with all committee members
