Goal:

Increase new members by 15%: 124 new members.  As of 12/31/07, there are 828 members in the MN Chapter. (Year 2007: 97 new members; Year 2006: 120 new members; Year 2005: 100 new members; Year 2004: 105 new members)

Fostering Trust:

We will use open communication to help energize and integrate strategies, be action-oriented when implementing them, and be accountable to the public, our members and the community.

Vision:

Our primary purpose is to proactively and effectively communicate the benefits of membership to the Minnesota financial planning community, to create alliances with those while increasing our membership.

Developing Strategies:

  • Increase size of committee and participation level
  • Activate current members to get non-members to join.
    • Staff membership table at monthly chapter meetings
    • Committee members speak at chapter meetings (March, April, August, October) about new incentives and membership activities
    • Make benefits of FPA and Directors fact sheets available to members at monthly meetings
    • Monthly newsletter submission
  • Direct Recruitment of Non-Members.
    • Create alliances with colleges
    • Identify and seek other companies to set up a display during their big meetings
    • At the April 2008 meeting, have information about membership on all tables and highlight membership at that meeting by speaking
    • Attend CFP Classes in Twin Cities area and give a 10 minute presentation on FPA MN FPA
  • New Member Receptions
    • April 30, 2008
    • October/November 2008

Energizing Alliances:

We will need to draw on a number of different alliances in order to be effective. These include inside alliances of: Programs Committee, Symposium Committee, Member Services Committee, Career Development Committee, Public Relations Committee and the Executive Director. Our outside alliances will include: the MN Society of CPAs, MN Bar Association, and colleges that we have relationships with.
