Scholarship Programs

the montgomery
scholarship fund

The FPA of MN has established the Montgomery Scholarship fund in honor of Henry Montgomery and his son Andrew. Henry Montgomery was one of the founding fathers of the International Association of Financial Planners (IAFP) and the Institute of Certified Financial Planners (ICFP) and has provided leadership and guidance to the financial planning industry for many years. In January 2000, these respective organizations combined to form one unified group - the Financial Planning Association. Each year, our members participate in programs that educate the public on the importance of personal financial planning. As we reflect on the accomplishments of the FPA, we are also creating a vision of the future of the FPA. In that respect, we are honored to formally recognize Henry and Andrew Montgomery by naming a scholarship after them. Recipients seeking support with their career development in the financial planning industry will receive a monetary scholarship (up to $1,000). We hope the Montgomery Scholarship Fund serves as a reminder to practitioners and students of the leadership and service that was provided to our industry by the Montgomerys. An application, which outlines the rules of eligibility, is available in pdf format. If you prefer one mailed to you, call FPA of MN at 763-781-1212 or email office@fpamn.org
